Soon after moving to Hamilton Dave started work at Stretton Clothing Ltd as a gGraphic & Website / Developer. He managed and improved websites such as Annah Stretton, and developed new websites such as AS Fabric, The Good Collective and Doggy Daily.

Graphic, Web & Animation Designer | Pumpt Advertising | June 2014 – March 2017
At Pumpt Advertising Dave McLean’s role included designing and developing websites, graphic design for various printed media (posters, business cards, flyers and booklets), creating HTML5 web banners and producing animated video content for web and displays. Other tasks he has been responsible for are preflighting customer designs before they get printed and EDM design / management. Clients Dave McLean designed for include Subway, Palmers, Toyota, Big Barrel and MusicWorks.

Dave McLean moved to Auckland in February of 2014 to take up a short-term role as a Web Designer & Developer for Pont Media. He worked on WordPress websites, an image slider for LouvreTec and a responsive job board for a recruitment company. He also worked on websites for clients such as v.RPO and Angel Association New Zealand. The image slider he developed can be found on the homepage of the LouvreTec New Zealand website.

Dave McLean worked as a Web Developer & Animator for Luvly Ltd on te Kapiti Coast. He worked on numerous website projects, as well as a few video and animation projects. Regulary using HTML5, CSS3, PHP and jQuery, as well as the Adobe Creative Suite, was a big part of his role. He also worked on the occasional radio advertisment project, doing some audio editing work
Research Assistant | Victoria University of Wellington | May 2011 – May 2012
After gradating from Victoria University of Wellington Dave McLean worked part time on a virtual field trip project with the Tourism Faculty of Victoria University. This project involved creating a digital version of a real Fijian island that students could use to make more informed decisions about how tourism would affect the island. The software he used to create the virtual field trip was and open source version of ‘Second Life’.
